This paper draws on observations of events of body-play from a PhD study in the context of early years physical education in Ireland. An event in Deleuzian terms reads as an effect in teh encounters between differenet bodies and matter. This paper embraces methodological multiplicity to study play through new research practices, juxtaposing narrative inquiry alongside post-humanist ideas to consider the material and the affective.
